I used a whole combination of photoshop effects on this image. I made the slide frames and positioned other images from the same shoot inside them. I scattered them around to simulate the old school method of making a selection for a print from several slides. I then framed the subject and made the part of the photo outside of the frame black & white. Inside the frame is rendered to look like a painting, but I cleared the eyes and smile. Then a soft vignette around the color part. A lot of effects combined to make one finished poster-look.
