I caught this shot of an Iraqi soldier at the courthouse opening in a town called Yathrib. There were a lot of soldiers, policemen, sheiks and local officials there and I was fortunate to get some of my first images of Iraqi locals. The event could have erupted in violence at any time which made this a particularly tough shot to get. I'm sure he witnessed much under Saddam Hussein's regime and I was reluctant to stick a lens in his face. luckilly he was happy to mug for the camera. |
