The exterior steps to one of Saddam's palaces in Tikrit, Iraq. I can't help wondering who might have climbed these stairs, and under what circumstances.

The angles of intersecting geometric patterns lend themselves well to black & white. A little film grain and a splash of color complete the look .

This was a pretty boring shot until I played with it a little. Now it's one of my favorites and I use it as my desktop wallpaper.
